Today was our December Board meeting. We started by congratulating Russ Salgy on his daughter Caitlyn being named to the News Tribune All-Area Volleyball Team. Our Outbound Exchange student, Jo Johnson, had to cancel her plan when the two remaining Countries had language proficiency and other requirements that she couldn't meet. We are sad for her and for us for the lost opportunity. We talked about Board members attending this year's District Conference in Fargo April 12-13. Our strong financial position triggered discussions about how to encourage younger members to join and consider Board positions, and what kinds of projects we should be planning. Our second meeting in January 1/12 will be a Club Assembly to approve the 2024-2025 Board and to discuss the Club's direction. Garret announced that we are at 26 projects completed so far this year with a handfull more on the schedule before the new year. Great work! Judy announced that the Holiday auction raised $1,300. That will cover the Holiday Family presents cost. It is good to see the enthusiasm of our new Board members.
Our guests last week were; From Proctor High School Students Cameron Pease and Santiago Lenz, From Superior Rotary Club Charlie Johnson, Dan Blank, Dan Diamon, and Dr. Bob McClellan, From Harbortown Fred Rouse, and Susan Meyer.
December is a busy month. 12/19 is both the Life House Holiday Dinner (Skyline provides cookies) and Bentleyville volunteering. There will be no meetings on 12/22 and12/29.
December is Rotary Disease Prevention and Treatment Month.
