This Friday we will meet at the Hermantown YMCA. This will be a hybrid meeting and President Matt Wicklund's first meeting of his Rotary year. We will meet new Rotary International President Shekhar Mehta by video from the recent international convention. Duties are: Invocation - Jodi May, and Fellowship - Hugo Heitapelto.
Next week we will meet at Duluth Cider in the Craft District. We will continue to invite Craft District business owners. The program will be Matt and the Board speaking about plans for the upcoming year. Duties will be: Invocation - Stacy Johnson and Fellowship - Garret Suihkonen.
Last week's meeting was the Changing of the Guard Dinner at Barkers Island Inn. Thank you to Chris Sward for making the arrangements. PP Todd Peyton thanked his Board and the Club for making his year during a very challenging time a success. He proudly awarded the Rotarian of the Year award to Greg Kaake for his stellar year of leading our community service projects. Congratulations and thanks from us all Greg. New President Matt Wicklund outlined his plans for the new year and quoted from, "The Book of Joy" which he gifted to this year's Board. So the message is that Skyline Rotary's 48th year will be a year of joy.
July is Rotary New Leadership Month.
The theme of the new Rotary year is: Serve to Change Lives.
Thought for the Day
A poem by new RI President Shekhar Mehta
The biggest gift we are given
Is the power to touch a life
To change, to make a difference
In the circle of life.
If we can reach out
With our hand, heart, and soul,
The magic will start to happen
As the wheel begins to roll.
Let's turn the wheel together
So all humanity thrives.
We have the power and the magic
To Serve to Change Lives.
I have scheduled recurring Zoom meetings for this Rotary year.

See you on Friday.
This is a sneak peek of the health care center in Nigeria that we were recently awarded a grant to help build. We hope to share a Zoom meeting with the Maryland Club in Nigeria and our Club at a future date.
