Garret and Greg talked about upcoming projects such as set up for the Air Show, a couple of highway cleanups, some work at Keane's Creek, finishing the pollinator garden at Boulder Lake, and more. We have now received two more inquiries about future outbound exchange students. Scholarships are in the works as well as RYLA student recruiting.
Last weekend was the District Conference. Mark and David attended. We will take a few minutes on Friday to give Conference highlights.
Guests last week were; Hunter Bergerson, Dan Dock, our speaker Pat Andrews, and Proctor High School Student Rotarians Abby Schunk, Carlie Blevins, Zak Mephee, and Lucy Mistelske.
The program last week was a great for those who love Hermantown Hawks Hockey.
Jim Curtis gave a great fellowship quiz on Hermantown Hockey history and shared that he was a part of that history as a Hermantown player.
Coach Pat Andrews spoke about his approach to coaching which includes a focus on three core values of mindfulness, concentration, and insight. Trust and right effort are two additional values that he teaches his players. A lot of his coaching practices translate well to business leadership and Rotary leadership. Pat shared that he was a student Rotarian in high school and attended Skyline meetings in the old Elk's Club (now gone) on Haines Road. Pat did a great job, and we'd love to have him back again.
April is Rotary Environmental Month. Supporting the Environment is Rotary's Seventh and the newest Area of Focus. District 5580 now has an Environmental Committee.
