There will not be a regular Friday 9/19 noon meeting this week at the YMCA. Our Friday meeting will be a picnic held in the Skyline restored log pavilion at North Country Ride 180 Hatinen Road, Esko, MN 55733. Julie Peterson, Executive Director, will tell us about their mission and vision. There will be no duties this week.
On Saturday the 20th at 10:00 at the DECC Pioneer Hall there will be a ceremony followed by the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer's from the DECC to Fitger's and back. Skyline has made a contribution to the Walk so come Celebrate and Walk.
Last week the Board met. The Board encourages the Club to attend the October 24-25 District Conference here in Duluth. For first time District Conference attendees the Club will rebate $100 of the $190 fee. Register online at the District 5580 website and get reimbursed by Judy Harrison. We will support the Life House Gala with a table at their Gala and the Northern Lights Foundation. We will schedule a Fall Highway Cleanup.
Last Thursday there was a good Rotary turnout to enjoy the musical "Million Dollar Quartet" at the Duluth PlayHouse.
Friday the 26th we will help to set up the Lester River Rendezvous starting at 11:00 with lunch between chores.
Last Friday a hearty group of Skyline golfers started golfing in the light rain and fog. The rain and fog stopped, but the fog returned for the last couple of holes. We had fun anyway.
September is Rotary International Basic Education and Literacy Month.
