Next Friday, February 4th 8:00-4:00 is the TEDxDuluth event at the DECC Harborside Ballroom. This is the major event of the UMD Rotaract group. Skyline is a sponsor of the event and so there are 5 VIP tickets and 5 parking passes available to Club members. Please check with Mark to register for these tickets. 5 Club members are volunteering too. The program consists of short TED talks as most of us have seen on social media. Star Gump and Kadie Knutson are the organizers of the event. They have done an awesome job. All of the presenters have Minnesota ties. 

 

Rock the Skyline on February 28th at the Shriner's Event Center 5-10:00. Tickets online $35. Lots of great food, cider and beer for "tasting". A silent auction and great music including Big Wave Dave and the Ripples. So warm up your dancing shoes. 

 

The inaugural Skyline Meat Raffle was a success despite the -20 outside temperatures. Everyone had fun and we raised a few hundred dollars for the Club. With better weather and some experience under our belts the February 26th raffle should go even better. 

 

The meeting last week was pretty quiet and very casual. Lots of good conversion for those who braved the cold. We watched a video of Star Gump being interviewed on Fox 21 about TEDxDuluth. 

 

Mark attended the quarterly Twin Ports International Service meeting and spoke about our potential project in Santa Maria de Jesus, Guatemala. 

 

       

January is Rotary International Vocational Service Month. Vocational service means using the skills that are particular to your profession for the advancement of the goals of Rotary.
