Welcome to Skyline Rotary

Duluth Skyline Rotary is a member of Rotary District 5580
Skyline Rotary Meets weekly on Fridays at 12:00 PM.
We will be meeting both virtually using Zoom and/or in person at the Duluth YMCA:
Duluth YMCA: 4289 Ugstad Rd. Hermantown, MN 55811 - Driving Directions

We will meet this Friday 10/25 at the YMCA. We are waiting on a confirmation for this week's program and will send an  announcement when we have it. We will be back in our regular meeting room this week. Duties this week are: Invocation - Judy Harrison, and Fellowship - Jim Curtis.

Next week Friday 11/2 we will not have a usual Friday meeting due to next week's Paul Harris Dinner.

We will have the Club interview with Outgoing Exchange Student Paul Wolfe this Thursday evening. His next step is the District interview that will be held November 2nd in Fargo.

Next Tuesday the 29th is the Paul Harris Dinner at 5:00 sponsored by Skyline. If you haven't registered and wish to please contact Jason. There will be approximately 80 attendees. A great effort by Jason and Skyline helpers.

Guests last week were Hermantown Student Rotarian Alison Andrews, our presenter Jessica Peterson, from Proctor High School and our Outbound Exchange Student Paul Wolfe and his Mom Holly.
Our presenter, Jessica Peterson, is the Development Director the the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. She told us that the organization name will be shortened in their current rebranding process. Jesica told us that their mission as a community foundation is to unite people and resources to stregthen communities and create lasting positive change. She explained the differences between Community Foundations and Private Foundations. Her organization serves 12 Counties, 7 Tribal Nations, and 2 States. They provide grants, scholarships, and community leadership. They annually disperse over $2M in grants to non-profits and award over $1M in scholarships. An example of their work is in managing the Phil Strom (a Downtown Rotarian) North Shore Community School Naturalist Fund. Skyline hopes to to work with Jessica and their Foundation to establish our own Skyline Foundation. The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation is a tremendous asset to our community.

I received the monthly District newsletter, the Cross Currents, by email during the meeting and was able to show that they had published the article in the Woman today magazine about Deb. Well deserved Deb.
