This Friday we will meet at the YMCA and with Zoom.
June is Rotary Fellowship Month.
This week’s meeting presenter will be Brian Tasky. He will talk about the Splash Pad project that was put on hold last year. Incoming President Matt will speak briefly about the annual Club planning process. Duties will be: Invocation by Aaron Winkelman and Fellowship by Jim Lewis.
Next week's meeting will be held at the Hermantown Outdoor Classroom behind the Elementary School. We will have a picnic lunch and do some service projects.
Monday was Todd Peyton's final Board meeting as President. Thank you Todd for your year of service. Incoming President Matt talked about a service project with COGGS clearing the first mile of biking trail at Chambers Grove and helping Harbortown with their bike event at Spirit Mountain. Service Chair Greg says that we may be ready to build the Women's Center playground on July 9. PP Wade Petrich suggested to Hermantown Schools Superintendent, Wayne Whitwam, that he talk to our Club. We are scheduling a meeting now that school is out.
We heard that the Air Show set up crew is not needed for Wednesday the 23rd, but still is needed on Thursday the 27th.
North Shore Rotary Club will be holding their Lyle Northey - Forekids Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 26th at Lakeview Golf Course starting with breakfast and 8:00 AM tee times. Proceeds will go to students for RYLA, Scholarships, and Interact. This year's event is particularly special as Lyle passed away in this last year. PP Harry Podgorski was a guest at last week's meeting. He asked us to stay active with him in working with the kids at The Hills. Sadly this week we learned that The Hills is closing in July. Skyliners worked with many troubled kids there over the years. We can only hope that young kids in trouble will find a caring community as they did at The Hills. Kris Lee presented the updates and upgrades that she has made to the Club website. She said that she hopes that members will view the website every week. She requested that we remember to take pictures of our projects and social activities and send them to her with a write up. The current Skyliner is always posted on the site. Thank you Kris for the gift of your talent and your time to upgrade our website.
Don't forget to celebrate your Father this Sunday!
Please note that I have scheduled recurring Zoom meetings for the rest of the Rotary year.

See you on Friday. This is a sneak peek of the health care center in Nigeria that we were recently awarded a grant to help build. We hope to share a Zoom meeting with the Maryland Club in Nigeria and our Club at a future date.
