Charlie Johnson from the Superior Rotary Club will talk to us about helping with this year's Dragon Boat Festival. Duties this week will be: Invocation - Suzanne Anderson, Fellowship - Chris Sward, and Greeter - Kris Lee. 

 

The March Rotary Magazine arrived this week. On page 62 is the Memoriam section that recognizes the passing of RI Directors and District Governors recognizing their importance and the commitment of District Governors to Rotary. Our own Earl Rogers and Rick Bricker from Brainerd are recognized. Also of interest is the second article by the Rotary Magazine Editor in Chief, Wen Huang reporting from Poland about Rotary's work with refugees in Poland and work in Ukraine. 

 

Judy Harrison reported that twenty folks enjoyed a great dinner at the Hammond Steak House. Thank you Chris for organizing.    

 

Our guests last week were Dan Dock from Club 25, and our presenters Antonio Davis and Annika Frazer. Antonio and Annika were representing the Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) which is a nonpartisan climate change organization that exists to create the political will for a livable world. CCL volunteers participate in lobbying congress, grassroots engagement and outreach, media engagement, and chapter and volunteer development. All consistent with Rotary's newest Area of Focus; Protecting the Environment.  CCL was started by Marshall Saunders who was a Rotarian from the Club in Coronado, CA. Antonio and Annika are raising funds to lobby our Representatives in Washington, DC. The annual lobbying trip last year saw a thousand members from around the country at the Capitol to lobby for the environment. 

 

March is Rotary Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Month.
