There will be a regular Friday 10/10 noon meeting this week at the YMCA. Our presenter will be Leslie Chaplin of the Minnesota Autism Center.
Duties this week are: Invocation - Judy Rogers, and Fellowship - Tim.
October Board meeting is Wednesday October 8th at noon at the Depot.
Our Guests last week were; Student Rotarians from Proctor Vera Robertson and Malikia Brostrom and from Hermantown Madison Zagelemeyer, ECO Rotarian Eric Yonke, and our speaker John Engelking.
Tom introduced our Student Rotarians who will be with us for the month of October. Please reach out and talk to our students. Judy told us that we received a check in the mail for $940 from our work setting up the Air Show.
Eric Yonke from ECO Rotary spoke about the upcoming Paul Harris Foundation Dinner that will be held November 6th at Pier B.
Tom encouraged club members to attend the District Conference held at the DECC October 24 and 25. The Club will cover $100 of the $190 registration fee for first time District Conference attendees. Tim is organizing a Pub Crawl in the Craft District on Saturday during the afternoon break with a bus from the DECC and through the Craft District. Should be fun.
Todd Peyton introduced John Engelking, a past Proctor Schools Superintendent, Skyline Rotarian, and current CTE Regional Manager for the Fast Forward program which provides grants to teachers of technical school programs. $10M in funding comes from the State with $740K allocated to the Northeast region. Future forward coordinates a database of businesses in the region that are hiring students with technical skills. Thank you to Todd for bringing this program to us.
October is Rotary International Community Economic Development Month.
