The Paul Harris Foundation Dinner hosted by our Club was a great success and a fun evening. Members from all of the local Clubs participated. The evening started with dancers from the Minnesota Ballet. Rob Hoffmann from Club 25 shared a Rotary Reflection focused on civic engagement. Jason compared the Rotary People of Action to the citizens who saved the Depot. Dr. Bob from Superior is on the District Foundation Committee and he spoke about Grants. Harbortown spoke about their grant to The Life House used to purchase a truck. Mark spoke about the WASH Grant project in Nigeria. DGE Elaine Hanson from Club 25 recognized Phil Strom for achienving Major donor level two and Jim Landwehr for major donor level four. Tom Gump who is an aide to RI President Urchick, and a leader in the 2028 RI Convention in Minneapolis spoke briefly about the upcoming Calgary Convention. The keynote speaker was recently retired Judge Dale Harris. He spoke about his work starting a veterans court to address the special needs and recognize the contributions of veterans. His message about the need for civility and civic engagement was perfect for our times and for a room filled with Rotarians. Thank you to all of the Skyliners who helped with organizing, setup and teardown, to our helpers from the other Clubs, to the Honors group from Hermantown, and everyone who helped to make the evening a success. Secial thanks to Jason who demonstrated great leadership in making this event happen.

November is Rotary International Foundation Month.

Thought for the Week
"Rotary International's masterpiece is The Rotary Foundation. It transforms our dreams into splendid realities.  It is the most generous expresion of Rotarian generosity. A generosity that not only brings benefits but also brings help and cooperation to solve the problems that affect humankind. The Rotary Foundation achieves the best that humankind can possible achieve.".

Paulo Costa, 1990-91 Rotary International President
