2023 PEACH TICKETS ARE HERE. If you need them before Friday call Mark, and he will deliver them to you.
This Friday, July 21st we will meet at the YMCA. Our presenter will be Kerri Holsbach from Food for His Children. Duties are: Invocation - Deb Almirall, Greeter - Jim Curtis, and Fellowship - Russ Salgy.
Last Thursday we Changed the Guard at the Pike Lake Banquet Center. It was a fun loud rowdy crowd just as we expect a Skyline celebration to be. It was great to see spouses and kids. New Board members were announced including the previously unannounced New Generations tag-teamed by
Alex Shult and Emily Marshall. Thank you both Alex and Emily. The average age of the Board was reduced by half even though I am still on the Board. Young new talent and enthusiasm is exciting to see for the future of Skyline. Last, but far from the least was the announcement of the Rotarian of the Year Award including the bronzed work hat. The award went to Tom Meyer for his hard work and leadership to complete the stage project last Fall. Thank you Tom. We are all very proud of you!
There is a movement to revive the Paul Harris Dinner. Skyline hosted a great one two years ago. It looks like the upcoming one will be co-hosted by Harbortown and Superior.
Look for an email about the Rock the Skyline committee. We need to get the early planning started. October 27 or 28 looks like the preliminary possible dates.
Next week's meeting Friday, July 28th we will meet at Enger Golf Course in the Pavilion by the Club House. Lunch will be served and then there are 4 foursomes to play golf starting at 1:10. Confirm with Russ if you haven't already told him that you intend to golf. No duties for this meeting. We'll just be casual.
Russ sent out the invitation to play in or sponsor the Valley Youth Center Gopher Golph Classic on Friday, August 4th with 9:30 shotgun start at Nemadji Golf Course.
July is Rotary Maternal and Child Health Month.
Thought for the Week
"Bright futures begin with healthy babies. When this reality is ignored, it begins a long line of social and economic failures that strain parents, families, communities and the overall health and economic stability of our Country".
