We will meet at the YMCA this Friday, January 13th, 2023.
The meeting will be a Club Assembly. We will skip duties to allow maximum time for discussion about our Club. We encourage everyone to speak up with their suggestions. We will be happy to hear about what we are doing well and what needs some attention. If there is something about Skyline or Rotary that you don't understand we will do our best to explain. If there is something that you are unhappy about this is the time to raise the issue so that it can be addressed. Look for an Updated Club Assembly Agenda in your email on Wednesday. It will include updates based on our Board Meeting discussion today. This discussion will help to make our Club better.
Our guests last week were Student Rotarians Jadyn Lind, Colton Danelski, and Laura Ferguson, and Antonio Davis (guest of Kevin Kalligher), and our speaker Russell Habermann.
Our speaker Russell Habermann was a Skyline Student Rotarian from Proctor in 2011. He spoke about the amazing Dolly Parton Foundation Imagination Library. He committed to administering the program in Proctor through REA3D, and he self funded the startup of the program. The program provides age appropriate books delivered to kids in the mail monthly from birth through 5 years old. Amazingly the annual cost per child is $26.5. For more information about the program go to www.imaginationlibrary.com or locally at https://rea3d.org/imaginationlibrary/ Literacy is one of the Seven Areas of Focus for Rotary. We have $200 to start the passing of the hat at this week's meeting. We hope to fund at least 10 kids for a year.
Next week's meeting speaker is TBD.
Our January 27th meeting will be an "Invite a Guest" meeting. We always love to have guests whether they are family, friends, coworkers, or potential members. No pressure, just fun. We will talk briefly about Skyline and then meet our guests. Please start to think about who you want to invite.
January is Rotary Vocational Service Month.
Thought for the Week
