Marshall School wants to restart their Student Rotarian program.
Last week we had some very junior Rotarian guests; Clara Leutgeb, Cicy Salgy, and Aila Crego. Paul Almirall and PP Wade Petrich also joined us. Big news! We learned from Kris Lee that Matt and Anna got engaged before they left for their European trip. They will be back on 9/13. The Club signed and we sent a thank you card to Tim Sundstrom and his crew at Sam's for the help that they provided to us with the peach sale. Our presenter was Baihly Warfield. She is a newscaster on WDIO TV and announced her new program called The Lift. She will facilitate the show which will air from 4:30 - 5:00 and will be Minnesota based content. The theme is to Find good as we explore, learn, and play. News with an upbeat positive outlook. We had a sneak peak at one of the her first show's stories about sailing on the all-women Kicks boat. Baihly grew up in Savage, MN and moved to the northland with her husband 7 years ago. She says that she now loves the Duluth area for its outdoor activities. Future programs will feature What's Brewing, The Hockeyland Movie, and Kevin Kalligher telling us how to prepare our house for sale. Baihly told us that the biggest story that she has covered was the Husky Refinery explosion where she was on the air for 9 hours straight.
