Yesterday was Rotary Day at the Capitol sponsored by Districts 5580, 5950, and 5960. We heard presentations from a number of legislators who were Rotarians. I met with newly elected Representative Natalie Zeleznikar who spoke to our Club this Fall. There is a bill being considered to allow Rotary "vanity" license plates as at least 17 other states do.
Last week our guests at Bring a Guest Day were Students - Laura Ferguson, Payton Ruppe, Kendra Hansen, and Alexis Milbridge, Guest of Tom - Adam Landwehr, Guest of Mark - Paul Johnson, Guest of Joe - Ben Hrabak, Guest of Kevin - Laura Bixler, and guests or the Club visiting Rotarians from Superior Club - Dan Blank and President Marquise Slay. Russ has booked Enger Park for an all Twin Ports Rotary Clubs picnic to celebrate our 50th Anniversary on Friday, June 2nd from 11:00 - 1:00. Please contact Russ to join the planning committee. Dan Blank from Superior Club asked for a meeting with Skyline members to discuss supporting the Dragon Boat Festival and other joint initiatives with their Club. Our Board will respond.
Kevin explained how we would meet and get to know our guest through a "speed dating style" introduction using a few questions to start the discussion. It worked well. Thank you Kevin.
