We will meet this Friday 9/6 at the YMCA. Our program will be by Olivia Sedlachek the Marketing and Communications Director for the Hermantown Chamber of Commerce. This will be a first step in a Membership Development Plan to help grow Skyline by better reflecting and engaging our community. Duties this week are: Invocation - Greg Kaake, Fellowship - Tim.
Next week Tuesday the 10th the Board will meet at MPECU at noon. Lunch will be served. All members are welcome.
Next Friday 9/13 District Governor Kay Perries will make her annual Club visit. She will meet with the Board at 11:00 at the YMCA and then present her program at our regular meeting. Please plan to attend this meeting to show our support for our District Governor.
This week Alex will be in San Antonio for the Zone Institute to learn more about Rotaract and meet folks from Zones 25 and 29. A wonderful opportunity for her.
We were fortunate to have a number of guests at our casual meeting last week. Guests were: PP Harry Podgorsky, Past Skyliner Curt Teberg, Downtown Rotarian Dan Dock, Paul guest and husband of Deb Almirall, David Lewis' three kiddos, Matthew guest of Adam, Justin Olson dad of Gus.
President Adam gave updates on peaches and the Dragon Boat Festival. Garret talked about volunteering at the North Shore InLine Martathon on September 14th with a 6:00 AM start and a Fall Highway Clean up.
Jason gave us an update on the Paul Harris dinner which he is spearheading for this Fall. He has a great start that we need to jump in and help him with.
Justin Olson gave us an update on Gus' arrival in Bangkok, Thailand and showed a pictiure of his welcome there.
This week we received a request to support another outbound exchange student from Proctor High School either next year or the following year.
PDG Kay Biga mentioned that there will be another Rotary evening at the Duluth Playhouse on September 12th. It will be the dress rehersal before the opening of "Jersey Boys", the Tony award winning musical about Franki Valli and the Four Seasons. No registration required. You can just show up.
September is Rotary International Education and Literacy Month.
