We will meet at the YMCA this Friday, February 24th, 2023.
Our presenters will be Antonio Davis and Annika Frazier representing the Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL) which is a nonpartisan climate change organization that exists to create the political will for a livable world. CCL volunteers participate in lobbying congress, grassroots engagement and outreach, media engagement, and chapter and volunteer development. All consistent with Rotary's newest Area of Focus; Protecting the Environment. We will review our discussions with the Superior Club and at the Board regarding assisting with the Dragon Boat Festival. Duties this week will be: Invocation - Hugo Hietapelto, Fellowship - Crystal Bowen, and Greeter - Trish Crego.
This Thursday the 23rd is Rotary's 118th year anniversary. Go to rotary.org My Rotary and review Rotary's Timeline. Great old documents from the history of Rotary.
We will have to get a report from Chris Sward on the dinner at the Hammond Steak House as a backed up sewer and grandpa duty didn't allow me to join the party.
On Saturday the 18th District 5580 held One Summit by Zoom. The theme was the synergy between Membership, Public Image, and The Rotary Foundation. There is always more to learn about Rotary.
There was no meeting last week.
February is Rotary Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Month.
Thought for the Week
"One Profits Most Who Serves the Best".
Rotarians at the 1911 convention embrace the primary motto of Service Above Self and the Secondary motto above.
I have scheduled recurring Zoom meetings for this Rotary year.
