This weekend is the Air Show. We will help to set up the VIP area again this year. We will meet this Thursday July 9th at 8:30 AM in the Social House parking lot 4897 Miller Trunk Highway. We will be escorted from there into the secure airport. Dress for the weather. Earplugs are good. Lunch will be served at noon. Be prepared to stay a little longer if needed. This is a service project that helps bring a lot of people to our community and the Club receives funding for our work.
There will be no meeting on Friday the 10th.
Tuesday the 14th is the July Board Meeting 11:30 at the Depot.
Thursday the 16th at noon at the Downtown Club meeting at the Kitchi Gammi Club Joe Cavanaugh from Youth Frontiers will be presenting. They bring Character Building Retreats to students and teachers in Minnesota and Wisconsin and are hoping to work with Rotary in the Twin Ports.
Thursday July 16th is the Hermantown Summerfest Block Party at the YMCA. Work with Emily to schedule times and tasks. We should set up our Skyline tent and have people there to tell the Skyline story and why they should join us.
Tim says that Peaches will arrive on Friday August 14th in the morning on the west side of Sam's Club. The current year online sales will be on our website shortly and we will get tickets printed soon too. This is our major annual fundraiser. Please sell some tickets and plan to help on the 14th weekend.
Last week on Thursday was the first ever Twin Ports Clubs Summer Picnic at Enger Park. It was well attended with an estimate of about 60 comprised of members from all Clubs. The weather was beautiful and the food that was supposed to be hot was and the food and drink that were supposed to be cold were. Plus there was plenty to eat. DG Peter Nelson and his wife Bonnie came from Brainerd to join us. Thank you to everyone who helped with setup and tear down.
July is Rotary International Maternal and Child Health Month.
