Bob Sherman left for Warsaw, Poland on Monday to work with two Clubs there to help the Ukrainian refugees. On Friday he wired $6,900 to the Clubs. Thank you to our Club members and our other donors for your generosity. We have another major donor, and we are waiting to hear from the District about the status of the possible $25,000 expedited Disaster Response grant. This is being called the greatest humanitarian crisis since the World War II. Our
Club and Rotary International are responding. We can be proud to be Rotarians.

This is the first publishing of Sarah Boynton to become our newest Club member.

Next week's Friday meeting 4/8 will be at the YMCA. Our presenter will be Duluth Police Department Deputy Chief Mike Ceynowa.  Duties will be: Invocation -Jay Ferguson and Fellowship - Brian Tasky.

Last Friday Our guests were: Sarah Boynton, Paul Almirall, Bernie Strack (past German exchange student who stayed with Earl and Judy Rogers), Harbortown President Heather Salfer and also from Harbortown Carl Maki, from #25 Dan Dock Chris, and Matt Baumgartner (our speaker).
Bob Sherman got us up to speed on refugee relief efforts happening in Warsaw, Poland.
Matt Baumgartner, President of the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce told us about his family growing up in Virginia with a Dad who worked at EVTAC. Matt's family lives in Lakeside. He talked about the Chamber's core mission which includes their ongoing programs such as Leadership Duluth, Fuse Duluth, professional development, large events, advocacy, and workforce development. Their workforce efforts include housing, child care, and equity. The Chamber will continue to support key industries; the Port, tourism, healthcare, and aviation. Matt hoped that Duluth would become known as, "the best community to raise children in". Matt proved to be a great speaker and advocate for the Chamber that has always had great leadership. Thank you Matt.

President Matt and Kris are headed to Scotland for a Rotary curling fellowship bonspiel. They leave on April 6th and return on the 17th. We expect to hear some great stories when they return.

Congratulations to our friends in Lincoln Park on receiving an $843,000 grant from the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development. The Grant will fund a grocery store, an expansion of the Children's Museum, and renovating the Lincoln Park Community Center into the Lincoln Park Hub. The grant was spearheaded by Ecolibrium 3, and the Duluth HRA, both recent presenters to our Club.
