A big thank you to Chris and Cindy Sward and Greg and Kris Kaake for organizing the Club picnic at Gooseberry Falls last Saturday. Beautiful location and weather, great food, and a good time had by all.
Last week the Board met with our District 5580 Governor Kay Biga, and then she was our meeting presenter. This was her annual visit to our Club, and her eighth stop on her schedule to visit all 63 Clubs in the District. Kay explained the meaning of this year's graphic with the color purple being the dye that is used on children's finger indicating that they have been vaccinated for polio, and the seven dots indicating the seven areas of focus (see above). She used examples of her visits to Clubs in Istanbul, Ghana, and India to emphasize how different the Rotary experience can be around the world. Here her Duluth Superior ECO Club was one of the first cause based clubs. There are now ECO clubs on six continents because they appeal to younger person's interest in supporting the environment. Foundation donations can now be directed to be spent on environmental projects.
The 2023 District Conference will again be a Tri-District and hybrid with 5950 and 5960 held April 29th (one day only) at Madden's in Brainerd.

Also, please modify your remaining tickets to say that pick up starts on August 26th.
Club Secretary Todd is asking for people who don't have badges to let him know so that we can order badges. It is hard for newer members and guests to be comfortable greeting people without badges.
