There will be a regular Friday 9/5 noon meeting this week at the YMCA. Our program will be Kristin Montgomery of Montgomery Sports Foundation. Duties this week will be: Invocation - Deb, Fellowship - Tom.

September will be a busy month. Check our Club calendar. Next week on Monday or Thursday we will stain the pavilion at North Country Ride (more to come shortly). Wednesday 9/10 at noon is the September Board meeting at the Depot. Thursday the 11th is the musical Million Dollar Quartet at the Duluth Playhouse at 7:00pm. Free to Rotarians, families, and friends (see below).  Friday the 12th we will golf 9 holes at Grandview at noon weather permitting. Friday September 19 we will have a picnic and program at North Country Ride in the newly restored pavilion. Saturday the 20th at 10:00 at the DECC we will Walk to End Alzheimer's. Thursday the 25th Skyline will have a table for 8 at the Life House Gala starting at 5:00pm social hour. Friday the 26th we will help to set up the Lester River Rendezvous. Thank you to everyone who helps to keep Skyline casual, fun, and active.

Last Friday evening we gathered at Duluth Cider for a peaches and ice cream social with music from Tres Osos (3 bears) and Mike Munson (a coattail Leutgeb). Good music, good friends, and the end of great peaches.

I heard from PDG Kay Biga that the Pachel Foundation she manages will be sponsoring a night at the Duluth Playhouse again this Fall on September 11. The musical will be "Million Dollar Quartet" set on December 4, 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis when Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley had a jam sesssion. This will be free to Rotarians and guests. Be there or be square.

August is Rotary International Basic Education and Literacy Month.

Thought for the Week
"This month's theme focuses on strengthening communities' ability to support education and literacy for all ages, reducing gender disparity in education, and increasing adult literacy by empowering educators, providing resources, and offering literacy programs."
