This is Peach Week. The peach truck will arrive from Washington State on Friday morning on the west side of Sam's Club. Tickets say sales on Friday from 11:00 (but people always arrive sooner) to 6:00, Saturday 9:00 until sold out, and Sunday 9:00 until sold out. Friday at noon we will have Sam's Club pizza for lunch. We will need a few extra hands on Friday morning to set up signs, tents, and prepare to put lugs in cars.
Tomorrow, Wednesday at noon is the August Board meeting at noon at the Depot or by Zoom.
Sad news about the passing of Harbortown Rotarian Mary Durward on Sunday. Mary was the long time Rotary District Youth Exchange Chairperson. I remember District Conferences where Mary acted like a mom for the incoming and outgoing students. She was dedicated and loving with those kids who were a long way from home. The service will be this Thursday at First Lutheran Church. More details will be available later.
I heard from PDG Kay Biga that the Pachel Foundation she manages will be sponsoring a night at the Duluth Playhouse again this Fall on September 11. The musical will be "Million Dollar Quartet" set on December 4, 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis when Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Elvis Presley had a jam sesssion. This will be free to Rotarians and guests. Be there or be square.
August is Rotary International Membership Month.
