We will meet this THURSDAY 5:00 PM at the BENT PADDLE TAPROOM 1832 West Michigan Street.
There won't be a Zoom connection due to background sound. There will be pizza, beer, fellowship, and music at 6:00. No duties this week and no meeting on Friday.
Next week Friday the 28th we will meet off-site at the St. Louis County Public Works and Transportation Complex at 4787 Midway Road which is just off of Highway 53 by Pike Lake. We will hear Rick Slatten of the St. Louis County Rescue. Do North pizza for lunch. We will skip duties as we will be off-site.
Our only guest last Friday was Dan Dock by Zoom. Unfortunately Bob Sherman was ill on Friday and was not able to present his Russia program. He will reschedule for February and we hope that he is feeling better. We had a very productive meeting as a result of reviewing the discussion of our Board meeting last Wednesday. Updates from the Board include a Peach Committee meeting this Wednesday, a discussion of spring service projects, plans for student scholarships, upcoming program presenters, and plans for a movable Skyline Rotary sign. At Friday's meeting we talked about ideas for our 50 year celebration. The Club was started in 1973 with Earl as the first President. Suggestions were to be at 50 members by then, and to perform a significant service project.
It was good to hear from Stacey Johnson last Friday. She and Jodi May have been busy getting their new Frandsen Bank Hermantown office on Highway 53 and Arrowhead Road ready to open in the second week of February. Stacy and Jodi will be working out of that office on Fridays and so will be easier able to join our meetings.
Our newest member is Crystal Bowen who is the Membership Experience Director for the YMCA. Jeramy Katchuba's new duties with the Y have him too busy to participate in the Club, and so he recommended that Crystal be the Y's active member. Welcome Crystal! We look forward to getting to know you and working with you.
January is Rotary Vocational Service month.
Saturday, February 5th is the One Rotary Summit. This will be a District wide virtual meeting discussing Membership, Public Image, and Rotary Foundation. There will be breakout sessions with Rotarians from around the District to discuss how their clubs are progressing. Sign up at: www.Rotary5580.org
