We will meet this Friday 10/11 at the YMCA. Our presenter this week will be Alex Schult. She will speak about her experience at the Zone Institute in San Antonio and share some of what she learned. Duties this week are: Invocation - Judy Rogers, and Fellowship - Mark.
Our Fall Highway Cleanup will follow the meeting. We will meet at Terry's Auto Body at 5132 Rice Lake Road. Bring gloves and good footwear. Vest, pickers, and trash bags will be provided.
The Board met this afternoon. It wasn't too early to look at our usually busy holiday time schedule. There is just one open meeting date, 10/25, left until January. We will look at a Valentine's party at the Hammond again this year after last year's succesful event. Kevin has scheduled a tour of the 148th Base for November 22. We would like to have about 20 attendees so invite family or friends. There will be an intake form and ID required to get onto the base.
The Rotaract Club met this evening. There were 8 attendees. They heard an inspiring presentation by Michael Overend from the Citizens' Climate Lobby.
Guest last week was Hermantown Student Rotarian Alison Andrews. Dodie Brown, CEO of True North Goodwill told us about their mission to transform lives through learning and the power of work.
Jason and the committee are making great progress towards the October 29th Paul Harris Dinner. Registration is now online with 38 attendees signed up so far. We will visit the local Clubs to encourage them to atend. There will be some volunteer opportunities the dayt of the event. We are planning an afordable, educational, and fun evening. Jason is doing a great job.
October is Rotary International Community Economic Development Month.
