We will meet at the YMCA this Friday, January 27th, 2023.
This week's meeting is BRING A GUEST. We will give a brief overview of Rotary to our guests and then we will break out into smaller groups where we can get to know one another. There will be some suggested conversation starter questions to smooth the start. This isn't intended to be a hard sell to join the Club but rather a chance for our guests to get a feel for what our Club and Rotary is about. Duties will be; Invocation - Joe Dusek, Fellowship - Garret Suihkonen, and Greeter - Lisa Neitzel. We will pass around the sign-up sheet for the February 2 Rotary at the Duluth Playhouse production of the Glass Menagerie.
You may have received your February Rotary magazine. The cover story is "Life During Wartime". Starting on page 24 is the story of the Ukrainian Support and Education Center in Warsaw, Poland that Our Club and District 5580 is supporting. Every other Sunday our organizing committee meets at 1:00 CST which is 8:00 PM Warsaw time. The two gentlemen shown on page 31, Michal Skup, and Jacek Malesa are President and PP of the Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Club that made the project happen. With daily news reports of the death and destruction in Ukraine it is encouraging to know that we are helping the refugee women, children, and elderly. We deserve to be proud of our efforts.
Last week our guests were Dan Dock, and Clark Garthway from the Boy Scouts and a Superior Club Rotarian. We continued and finished our Club Assembly discussion. The discussion minutes will be distributed and considered by the Board. Thanks again Tom for making lunch.
January is Rotary Vocational Service Month.
