We will meet this Friday, March 29th at the Depot 506 W. Michigan Street 1st floor by the trains. Skyliner Jason Young will speak about the program that we helped to fund through the Depot Foundation to support youth with their mental health issues. Then we will tour the Depot. There are parking lots on the east and west sides of the building plus some on-street parking. No Duties since we are off site.
There will be a Dragon Boat Festival meeting tomorrow evening Wednesday the 27th 5:00 - 6:00 held at the Old Historic Post Office 1401 Tower Ave in Superior 3rd floor. The meeting will start with updates and then break out into committees to discuss what needs to be done.

Dan Blank brought a dragon boat drum with him to get our Club fired up about working together to make this year's Dragon Boat Festival an even bigger success than last year. Put August 23-24 on your Calendars and plan to volunteer. A committee member will contact you with times, tasks needed, and where to meet. Sponsorship fundraising has started. Paddles Up!
Pat Plonski the Executive Director of Books For Africa, told us that over 60M books have been sent to Africa since they started in 1988. They work with over 10,000 volunteers. Our guest, Ephraim Nikoi is from Ghana and started a library there. Skyline contributed to that project and that may be a place to start to work with Books For Africa. Over 4.8M books have been shipped to Nigeria where our Kindred Spirit Clinic is located. Perhaps another location and Rotary Club to work with. There will be a Spring fundraiser held at Midland Hills Country Club 2001 Fulham Street, Roseville. Either a breakfast at 9:00 or lunch at 12:30 are available on Friday, May 10. Club Planning is underway for attending the District Conference in Fargo on April 11-13th. For first time District Conference attendees the Club will pay their $170 registration fee. We are looking at housing sharing and ride sharing. Registration is now open so go to the rotary5580.org website, register, and then submit the expense to Judy Harrison.
March is Rotary International Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month. Our Club received a WASH grant to provide the water well system and the waste system for the medical clinic built with our partners, Equal As One in Nigeria. There can be no good health if there is no clean water to drink and sanitation system to prevent the spread of disease.
March is also Women's History Month
