We will meet this Friday at the YMCA. This will be a hybrid meeting. The program will be by Jay Walker, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Aquarium. Duties this week are: Invocation - Jim Curtis and Fellowship - Dave Michelson.
Next week on Friday we will shop at 6:00 AM at Walmart for holiday families and then wrap presents and eat pizza at the YMCA at noon. That evening will also be our holiday party at the Aquarium. Social Hour starts at 6:00. Dinner at 7:00 catered by OMC Smokehouse. Masks are required in the Aquarium except as we are eating.
The Christmas tree at the Boys and Girls Club was decorated and cookies were delivered this Monday. Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Club of the Northland on opening a Hibbing Club.
Greg is organizing bell ringing and will give details.
Our annual Holiday Auction is Friday December the 17th. Joe Dusek and Hugo Hietapelto have graciously agreed to be the auctioneers. Gifts should be wrapped (some folks are much better at this) and should be in the $25 range. Proceeds help fund the Holiday Families and this meeting has a history of being a fun holiday event.
The date for the Christmas dinner at Life House has changed to Tuesday, December 21.
Happy Hanukkah.
December is Rotary Disease Prevention and Treatment Month.
Thought for the week
"We feel that there's a human right of people to live in peace. We feel it's a human right to have a modicum of health care, to a decent place in which to live, to have a chance to have an education, to have freedom of speech and freedom of religion and the right to elect your own leaders".
