This Friday the 5th we will meet at the YMCA. Our presenters will be Kevin Kalligher, Club Membership Chairperson, and Mark, District Membership Committee Chairperson. August is RI Membership Month. They will show a video by new RI President Jennifer Jones talking about her membership initiative. Also, the Hermantown School student that we sent to RYLA, Conner Swor, will show a video of this year's session and speak about his experience. Duties will be; Invocation - Brian Tasky, Fellowship - Russ Salgy, and Greeter- Rob Shamblott.
Next week's meeting will be a work project at the Hermantown Outdoor Classroom. We will repair the benches/tables that have warped or broken with new 2x4s and braces to protect against future warping. Bring drills. Lunch will be served. No duties.
Last week's presenters were St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman and Deputy Sheriff Jason Lukovsky. Sheriff Litman spoke about his 30 year career and his decision not to run for another four year term even though he had run un-apposed previously. He described his career as, "His life and his passion", and said that he will miss his interactions with constituents. He spoke of the his wife passing away and being gone from work for 3-weeks as a realization the quality of the staff he had built to carry on the good work of the Sheriff's Office.
PEACH ALERT We just learned that peaches will arrive a week later than planned. They will arrive on Friday, August 26th. All of our media has been adjusted to reflect the new date, but if you have sold tickets already please notify them that the arrival date is now one week later. Also, please modify your remaining tickets to say that pick up starts on August 26th.
Club Secretary Todd is asking for people who don't have badges to let him know so that we can order badges. It is hard for newer members and guests to be comfortable greeting people without badges.
Brian Tasky is having a big family 40th Birthday party at his home 3639 Ugstad Road on August 13th starting at 1:00. A fun filled day of events. RSVP to Brian 218-390-5225.
