September 20th Meeting: Legacy of Hope Exhibit (meeting agenda attached) Our next meeting we will be supporting Truth and Reconciliation by visiting an Exhibit put together by Legacy of Hope. The Legacy of Hope Foundation (LHF) is a national, Indigenous-led, charitable organization that has been working to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada for more than 19 years. The LHF’s goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential School System (RSS) and subsequent Sixties Scoop (SS) on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote healing and Reconciliation. Location: Falstaff Family Centre. 35 Waterloo St. N. Stratford. Classroom 1D Time: 7pm Note: We purchased bedding for two boys from a family Stratford Hope is sponsoring. Leslye will be coming around 7:10PM to take a photo with the group and to take the bedding. St. Pauls Car Show On September 9th, Jenn & Sarah helped out at the Car Show in St. Paul’s. With the Downie Optimist Club leading the way, it was a great initiative where Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and Rotaract worked together to raise funds for the Aquabox program. September 13 Trivia It was another fun night at trivia. It was a sold out event! Kudos to the team who make this possible every month especially Tyler and Shannon. Funds were raised for Stratford Perth Humane Society. Upcoming Volunteer/Event Opportunities 1. The Local - 5K Run Please consider joining our team the Rockin' Racing Rotaractors as we help to fundraise funds for such an amazing organization, The Local Community Food Centre.
