3) Rebecca asked if the following could be shared with the club (see the poster attached below)
On June 13th we are having our annual Lunch with Emily fundraiser in Upper Queens park. The event runs from 11-2 with entertainment, raffle tickets and a silent auction. A $20 ticket buys you one bagged lunch containing a sandwich/entree, a side, one drink and a dessert.
If you have free time that day we are looking for volunteers. Set up runs from 8:00am to 11:00am, the event 11:00am to 2:00pm and the 2:00pm and later for clean up. We are unable to provide a bagged lunches to volunteers but we do have coffee, timbits and sandwiches.
4) If you are wanting to go to a Rotary meeting, please see details below. They are are very kind and cover our cost of breakfast/lunch. These meetings can be used towards a make up.
Festival City Rotary Club of Stratford - They meet every Tuesday morning at 7:10 AM - The Queen's Inn Stratford
Rotary Club of Stratford - They meet every Thursday at 12:00pm - Kiwanis Community Centre

6) Below are the minutes from our previous meeting.
Arlene Pol and Marc Smith attended to give us an update on the Es Artes project that we committed to supporting as our International project.
Arlene highlighted the importance of investing in people as leaders.
The project started 8 years ago
Youth develop skills through arts and the Stratford Festival is one partner among many in this project.
It is skill building for youth; the youth in this program develop confidence and it keeps them out of violent gangs.
The strength of females in the program is impressive.
We have agreed as a club to pay to sponsor 3 individuals to come to Canada to further develop their skills.
Stell is a single mother who had faced obstacles and community backlash for joining the group is coming in September or October for at least two months. A lot of her time will be spent in Toronto. Her son joined the program and has become a very talented actor and is developing into a playwright.
We will be receiving hammocks and we are to think about where we would like to put these. It is suggested that we think about a place that is public where youth (or any age) could gather. (i.e. a place for youth to “chill”).
There will be a BBQ dinner and dance on August 19th for the Stratford Perth Museum and they are looking for us to get involved. The event includes several activities, including hatchet tossing.
Club to discuss where the hammocks will go.
Follow up on the event and what they are looking for in terms of volunteers.

Sarah reviewed the Rotaract Website.
Kelly gave a brief tutorial on ClubRunner.
Sarah – Send out Rotary Club Meeting dates and times for anyone that wants to attend these meetings.

5. Business Arising
There is a fundraiser for the Emily Murphy Centre on June 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. – looking for volunteers to assist with set up as early as 8:00 a.m.
Tickets are $20.00 and there is always great entertainment.
Meals will be delivered for those who wish to donate but cannot attend.
Trivia Night
Raised over $200.00 for Hospice.
Guelph to Goderich Rail Trail
13 communities along the trail.
Trail is 127 kms long
There are some detours right now, but the entire trail is accessible.
