On January 7th our speakers were members Steve K. and Martin B. presenting on their recent service trip that included Pierre L. to Rancheria Nicaragua.
The Rotary team in their standard poses!

Update Rancharia. Two new houses were completed for a Dec. 23 move in for the recipient families. The slideshow of the build had a theme of Steve and Pierre on the tools with Martin doing.....  It was great to see the houses with the trim, doors and even the latrines painted Rotary blue.
2 Candidate families have been selected for our next build by Rancharia's unofficial mayor Jose Moreno, who was presented a Paul Harris Award for his leadership in the community and the builds.

New this trip is our club's micro credit project focused on Rancharia, in association with Meda and Micedito in Chinendaga. At last report we have made 25 small loans, including a tortilla making operation,A small clothing shop, a freezer for selling frozen meats, a tiny convenience store and an open air barber shop. It was good to have 2 guests, Dean Shoemaker and Chris Brnjas explain more about Micredito.

Our club has also conditionally approved a Rancharia Medical fund for basic needs such as eye glasses and medication. We have selected 3 community leaders who will select eligibility of recipients and we are currently trying to establish a way to pay these submissions that is in keeping with CRA rules of control.

We can all be proud of the impact our club has had on this community and we can look forward to a continued association with Rancharia Nicaragua.
Work underway.
