On October 23rd, Rod Goetz presented our Guest Speaker Philip Baker - CEO of Learning for Humanity with a certificate of immunization of 50 children from polio.
Our speaker for this week was Phillip Baker who works with a company called "Learning for Humanity" which is involved in providing elearning educational resources. He recently returned from Zimbabwe where they built an eco-school for students ECE to Grade 12. They are also looking at a project in Zambia where they want to build 12 schools and a nursing college accommodating 11,500 students, 340 teachers, 200 classrooms and includes local sustainability initiatives.

Learning for Humanity is currently undergoing a re-branding to Tusitawi, which means "we flourish" in Swahili.

In addition to their work in sub-Sarahan countries in Africa, Tusitawi is also involved with Conrad Grebel College's Peace and Conflict Studies program, as well as anti-bullying and on-line safety initiatives.
