Grassroots Response is a local organization supporting Ukrainian newcomer families in our region. Here are their latest updates:
Advocate for Ukrainian Newcomers The Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Ontario Provincial Council is calling on community members to contact their MPP and the Ontario Minister of Immigration to support permanent residency pathways for Ukrainians who arrived under the CUAET program. Sample letters and MPP contact information are available at uccon.ca/newcomers/sample-letters and ola.org/en/members/current.
Volunteers Needed Grassroots is looking for volunteers with home repair and maintenance skills to help prepare their newcomer Guest Houses for spring. If you can spare some time, fill out their volunteer form to get involved.
