The club is actively driving multiple community service events and fundraising efforts to strengthen local support and participation.
- Diana reported that five people have registered for the blood drive and half of the donations for this year have been counted as of now. She stressed there is no pressure to donate but encouraged members to talk to friends and family to grow momentum.
- Gift wrapping/delivery event for Grassroots Response is scheduled for Dec 13th with easy signup via online link on Clubrunner, allowing members to join or withdraw effortlessly. - The 519 Collective meal preparation requires 6 to 8 volunteers to prepare and distribute 250 meals, highlighting a growing community need. This event is in Cambridge opposite the bus terminal. The Christmas dinner event aims to prepare and over 250 meals at a cost of about $1.50 per serving, our members including Rod, Martin and Patty have participated in the past. Paul opened a challenge for the club to partner with Shelter Box Canada to raise funds for at least one shelter box costing $1,200 each to aid disaster relief in Caribbean regions, particularly Jamaica. Paul emphasized the urgency due to ongoing devastation and the club’s longstanding relationship with Shelter Box.
