On August 27 we were joined by District Governor for 7080 Sohail Naseer.
Sohail was born in Pakistan and is a nonpracticing Muslim. He first joined Rotary in Pakistan in 1995. In 1997 he moved his family to Ottawa where he was a member of the Glouster Rotary club and moved subsequently in 2002 to Milton Rotary where he has been a member for the past 22 years. A Civil Engineer by training, he emigrated to Canada from Pakistan to provide an opportunity for a better education to his kids.
As DG for 7080 for 2024/25 he is making the effort to visit all clubs of the district in person to thank all Presidents and members and spread the message of the 2024/235 RI Theme The Magic of Rotary.

Sohail broke down the MAGIC theme as follows:
- Motivation-why are we here, what gives us passion for Rotary
- Action-Rotary projects are important worldwide
- Generosity - give yourself and your time
- Inclusion - active engagement, diversity in membership, important to accept all people and be reflective of our communities
- Connection - connect with community
Overall we need to engage new members to foster retention and get your ask in gear to raise membership.
