President Karen 
  • Welcomed guest Kate Prum, Friend of Rotary Det Voges and welcomed back Ric and Cathy Horn.
  • This was Club Assembly, Karen explained with the aid of power point the objects of Club Assembly, particularly the review of club activities.
Penni Taylor, Club Secretary
  • Arrangements to be made for an Afghan refugee vet to visit a members premises to examine animals. 
  • Advertising emails for general events to be continued to be circulated to members. 
  • Social event with Mitcham club on 23.1.23. 
  • Possible joint meeting with Stirling and Onkaparinga club proposed.   
  • Evening casual meetings with new members proposed.  
  • Information/training session for members on Club Runner required. 
Peter Schaefer, Community Service
  • Involvement in Mount Barker Christmas Pageant to be finalized. 
  • Proposal to erect Peace Poles near our signs at Auchendarroch or in Keith Stephenson park. 
  • Christmas ‘shoe box’ gifts to be returned by 25.10.22. 
  • A High School student will be sponsored to enable her to attend a Guides camp. 
  • Rotary Relocated Playground project is ongoing.  Conquer the Summit will be on 23.3.23. 
Jack Cooper, Club Administration
  • Speakers spots for October are filled, details on club website.  Some spots for Nov & Dec unfilled. 
  • Quiz night to be arranged in March 2023, 
  • Film night in February to be arranged. 
  • River event suggested.
Dave Gillies, Fund Raising
  • Thanked the crews who operated the Donut Van at Echunga. 
  • Then listed the fund raising events we undertake:  Bunnings BBQ, Show and Shine, Callington Show, Total Tools BBQ,  Sophie Thompson’s Open Garden, Lobethal Lights, Monster Trucks, Conquer the Summit, Birdwood Farm Day. 
  • Any extra events will have to be very carefully considered to avoid over committing ourselves.      
  • Donut Van requires extensive upgrading and amelioration. 
  • The coke van is to be completed and will be suitable for one day events. 
  • The existing BBQ trailer does not meet the standard required for public events and it not suitable for major changes in its structure.
Rod Cooper, Treasurer
  • Reported that the club is in the best financial position for 10 years. 
  • A budget review will be undertaken with some short term, 10 month, investments. 
  • 20% of our profits will be allocated to Operation Flinders
*Special thanks were given to Rod for his diligence and presentation of the club accounts.

  • Detailed open discussion of our public image.  Importance of regular media inputs including social media, internet. 
  • Appeal to difference age groups and cultural groups is needed. 
  • Proposal to form a club committee to deal with publicity.
