Rod Cooper, Treasurer
Budget 1 was passed at the Board meeting but included the predicted takings from the Royal Show.  The next day the show was cancelled.

Budget 2 was prepared by Rod and naturally had a large deficit.

Budget 3 was prepared after a Board meeting where directors were asked to trim their expenses. The club budget  has now been adjusted again and although it still has a deficit it is now a lot smaller.

Peter Baur  introduced the guest speakers to  our members.  Peter met the ladies at Yankaninna Station.

Holiday Explorers Inc, is a non-profit association established in 1988.  Providing holidays for South Australians with intellectual disability over 16 ears of age, they offer capacity and skill building opportunities and life changing experiences.

They provide quality experiences all over the world, fun and exciting social activities, personal development opportunities and respite for carers.

They do this to provide opportunities for disabled clients to experience holidays and activities just like everyone else; to see new places, try new things, while having fun.

Holiday Explorers plan an average of 170 holidays per year.

Tourists living in country SA are provided with a meet and greet service if they live 100ks from the HE office.  They can have phone interviews instead of attending the office and pick ups en route to trips.

There is specific funding available for over 65s who are registered with My Aged Care.  Personalised or day trips are available, slower moving groups, higher ratio of support staff, activities for people with limited mobility and socially compatible groups to help reduce isolation.

HE cannot manage without volunteers.   Volunteers go through intense training and have a number of checks before going on trips; Police checks, DCSI checks, Current First aid, Safe Environments training, and Manual Handling training.

21% of Holiday Explorer travellers are aged 16-30, 53% 31-55, 26% 56+.
A Holiday Explorers trip will help you to be empowered and to  achieve personal growth and to develop confidence and life skills.
Volunteers are the backbone of the Holiday Explorers' service and without them HE would not exist.
