Youth Inc

Patrick is the head of Marketing for Youth Inc, an independent, nonprofit education organisation.  They offer a 12-month learning and employment program for long-term unemployed and disengaged youth aged 17-24. This is a practical, real-world learning experience that combines part-time work with SACE & VET qualifications, life-coaching and support. It’s about developing enterprise skills for work, business, and a better future.  Youth Inc uses a different approach to mainstream schools – a stronger emphasis on practical work and enterprise, and achieving formal qualifications using project-based action-learning in the local community. They don’t have classes, but do projects. Instead of assignments, they have pop-up shops. Rather than classrooms, they use the whole city.  Practical, real world, in real time.
