Two new members of our Club attended their first-ever meeting in July although they have been members for over six months.  How did that happen?  The answer is simple  - modern technology!

Last December, Sebelle Deese and Susan Budd indicated they wanted to join our Club but they were scheduled to depart for their winter home in Mississippi and there wasn't enough time to induct them as members before they left.  Technology to the rescue as the Club formally inducted them in January via Skype from Mississippi.  This gave Susan and Sebelle an opportunity to get involved with the Club despite their physical absence from Nova Scotia.  Now that they are back home they were finally able to meet their fellow Rotarians in person at the July 26th Club meeting instead of just seeing them on a computer screen.  This is definitely not your grandpa's Rotary Club!
