Club Meeting - End Polio Now

Together, We Can End Polio!

What a wonderful program at the Rotary Club of Auburn Sunset as we welcomed Past District 5190 Governor David Bianchi and his wife, Lois, who shared an inspiring presentation about Rotary’s ongoing commitment to End Polio Now.

For decades, Rotarians around the world have worked tirelessly to bring us closer to a world where no child will ever again suffer from this preventable disease. David and Lois reminded us that this historic effort is about more than numbers—it is about hope, perseverance, partnership, and keeping a promise to the children of the world.

We are incredibly close, but our work is not finished. Every donation, every conversation, every vaccination, and every Rotarian who continues to share the message helps move us one step closer to making history.

Thank you, PDG David and Lois Bianchi, for sharing your passion, knowledge, and commitment with us and for reminding us why we must continue the fight.

Together, we will keep going until we can finally say: Polio is gone.

National Night Out
Again this year, the Rotary Club of Auburn Sunset was proud to be part of National Night Out in Auburn!

National Night Out is an annual community-building event that brings neighbors, law enforcement, first responders, local organizations, and families together to strengthen relationships and create safer, stronger communities.

With temperatures soaring to nearly 100°, our team was busy serving up smiles—and plenty of relief! We gave away more than 200 FREE snow cones, went through 12 bags of ice, and while there were plenty of sweat drops along the way, every single one was worth it to see the smiles and laughter of families enjoying a chance to cool down.

The generosity of our community was equally inspiring. Although the snow cones were free, attendees donated more than $45 in tips, all of which will go directly to Rotary's PolioPlus Fund, helping Rotary's global effort to eradicate polio once and for all.
Also we celebrate our members who also withstood the heat and had great booths out there, Eric Chun providing music for everyone to enjoy and Tamara Roberts of Burn Boot Camp, you were champions!!

Of course President Ray and Stacy found some sneak away time to check out the other booths and the very large vehicle. Stacy also was quick to discover her favorite quick food spot, Chick-fil-A.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a smile, and helped make National Night Out such a wonderful evening. Together, we're building stronger communities—one act of service, one snow cone, and one smile at a time!
