On January 21, 2025, under the theme, “Your Passport to Destination Success”, the Rotary Club of Old Fort hosted an inspiring Career Day at Adelaide Primary School, engaging students in grades 4, 5, and 6 with a diverse group of professionals from eight different vocations. Each speaker gave an insightful talk about their career paths, highlighting the skills, qualifications, and personal qualities necessary to succeed in their field. After the presentations, the professionals stood at exhibition booths where students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the day-to-day realities of various careers. The event provided invaluable advice and tips, helping the students understand how they could pursue their dream careers by developing the right skills, staying focused, and persevering through challenges. It was a motivating and interactive day that opened the students' eyes to the wide range of opportunities ahead of them. The club also made a donation of additional school supplies to the students for the current school year. 

At the first meeting of the new year, January 15, 2025, Mr. Roger Archer, Vice President and Head of Caribbean North for Scotiabank Bahamas Limited, delivered an engaging presentation on the evolution of banking in the Caribbean. He shared insights into how the banking sector has transformed over the years, from traditional banking methods to the innovative digital solutions shaping the future of financial services. Archer also took the opportunity to highlight the significance of Vocational Services Month in Rotary, emphasizing how vocational development plays a crucial role in shaping communities and providing individuals with the tools to succeed in their careers and their personal lives. His speech was a thought-provoking reminder of the ongoing changes in both the banking industry and the wider world of professional development, aligning perfectly with Rotary's commitment to fostering skills and knowledge for the betterment of society.

During the meeting, we also announced the winner receiving the most votes for Rotarian of Quarter 2, Club Administration Chair Ebony Rolle. Ebony has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in organizing each meeting with precision and enthusiasm. Her hard work behind the scenes has played a key role in ensuring the smooth running of club activities, creating an engaging and welcoming environment for all members. We are proud to have Ebony as a part of our Rotary family!
