President Brandon announced that Brooke Outingdyke was approved as our newest members. This received cheers and applause. Welcome, Brooke!
John Thompson reminded us about the Club Fellowship Survey. For those that have not yet responded online, there was a hardcopy at each sitting.
Jake Thomas reminded us of the need for volunteers for the Camino Mental Health Services Gingerbread House Contest. Volunteers are still needed for December 6th.
Everton Wilmot announced on behalf of Graham Gardiner that wine bottles (unopened) and draw ticket sales are required for the upcoming Seasonal Wheelbarrow Wine Draw.
Finally, President Brandon declared that Concordia Club was extending their famous Lunch Buffet Service to us, and this received sighs of relief and cheers.

Three members (Brooke, Bob, and Bill) had the pleasure and then, the disappointment of drawing marbles. The pot grows to $220+, and we live on, for the next meeting.
Guest Speaker
Today was the club’s AGM (Annual General Meeting) so, the star of the show was none other than our own Treasurer, Judy Nairn. President, Brandon extended a warm introduction, which received warm applause.
Judy began with an apology that she is neither a Boxing champion nor a Police tactitian but was encouraged by the high attendance to hear her speak and report.
The AGM and the revelation of financial statements for the club’s fiscal year ended June 30, 2023 are required by our By-laws.
Judy revealed that we maintain “two sets of books” but then quickly clarified that by this, she meant the club’s Charitable Foundation, and the club’s General Fund.
As at June 30, 2023, the RCKW Charitable Foundation enjoyed Net Assets of $63,176 all of which, was in Cash. In terms of operations, fundraising activities reveal an encouraging resurrection from the Covid shutdown. The Octoberfest Crown & Anchor and Community Bingo lead the way with Net Income of $16,646 and $15,571, respectively. The total Net fundraising was $38,708. Disbursements (donations) went out, at $21,968 with the Drayton Youth Academy heading the list, at $10,000.
Clearly, these numbers are well below historical averages but, fiscal 2024 (Brandon) is looking much better and fiscal 2025 promises to be even greater (no pressure, Mac).
Acceptance of the Charitable Foundation report was Moved by Mac Graham, and Seconded by Bill Green.
As for the RCKW General Fund, we enjoyed Net Assets of $96,468 made up of $85,753 in Cash, and $10,715 in Receivables, all of which, are considerred recoverable. In terms of Operations, Net Income of $7,193 was offset by expenses of $6,801 thereby enabling us to end the year “in the black”, at $392.
Judy brought to our attention the following points;
The switch from fixed Quarterly meal dues to pay-as-you attend $20/meal dues results in a small loss for the club. Conversely, the Member Quartely dues is contributing to a surplus. The two expense lines togather would suggest that the club may have the right balance but, Judy cautioned us that the club in effect, benefitted from the charity of President Brandon who chose not to attend the 2022 Rotary International conference, which is an outlay of $3,000.
The Canada Proud Flag program is critically important to the club balancing its General Funds operations.

There were a few routine questions and then, Judy received thanks and applause for a job well done.
