After attending school at the University of Ottawa and Montreal, Amica has returned to her local roots and now operates the For Us Girls Foundation out of the SCIG Idea Factory. Amica took us through the history and current priorities of the foundation.
The ForUsGirls Foundation is a Black feminist Canadian social purpose organization providing innovative skills & leadership development programs & opportunities for underserved & underrepresented young women & girls aged 10-25. They develop unique, fierce, and daring young women, girls, and gender-diverse youth into a community & global GoalKeepers of the UN 17 Global Goals. They inspire, engage, and empower young leaders and aspiring professionals with job-ready skills and confidence to achieve their dreams and fulfill their highest potential. They are a feminist, inclusive, social justice organization. They empower young women and gender-diverse youth to champion change in their communities & the world.
Kyle thanked Amica and presented her with a certificate from Operation Eyesight.
