Guest Speaker: Nicole Guse from the Sounds of Christmas
Her son Joshua attended KidsAbility due to sensory processing issues. Over a four year period, the help made huge life changes for Joshua and the Guse family.
Nicole also learned four key facts from the experience: Have patients, be persistent, become a good advocate and the most important thing was to celebrate everything.
Joshua is a living example of what early intervention can do.
Nicole likes to teach always remember where you came from. With that she wanted to give back to the organization that made such significate changes in her family’s life. This is how the Sounds of Christmas was born.
Music touches all ages and lives. The show combines professionals, adults and young children. With this group they could teach the young kids how to give back to the community. The multi generation 40 member cast includes 21 young performers.
There has been 3 years of success with the show and each year the donations to KidsAbility has been more than the previous year. $65,000 has been donated to KidsAbility in the past three years.
There are a lot of traditional songs, fiddling, step dancing and instrumentals.
This year venue has changed from Knox Church to WMB Church on Lexington.
Currently the show is in the need to help get the word out about the show and especially the new venue. If Rotarians can share with friends, family and post or hand out the flyers she has brought that would make a big difference.
A special thank you Bill Pegg, Jerome, Neil and Todd for their continuous support.
Charitable receipts are available and processed by KidsAbility. Tickets are available online, from Nicole or at KidsAbility.
Looking forward to seeing us there.
