On Wednesday March 22nd our club visited ArtsBuild Ontario downtown Kitchener.
Alex Glass, the Executive Director took us on a tour of the facility. The building itself is located in the old Kitchener post office on Gaukel street.
ArtsBuild is a regionally funded space where they provided leases to local artists at a subsidized rate. The building holds a multitude of artists running from painters, sculptures, music and photography plus more! After the meeting the group heading across the street to 271West for a delicious italian inspired lunch.
President Everton and Michelle Burke thank Alex Glass for providing a tour of ArtsBuild.
Rotary Fellowship Night
at Golf Play Waterloo
On Thursday March 23, Rotarians and family members headed to the new Golf Play Indoor Simulators. A great time was had by all. Special thanks to Michelle for organizing the evening. Some amazing golf talent among the group. Ray "Freddie Couples" Danbrook with his smooth swing was able to consistently pound it off the tee straight down the fairway.
Maria showed great form!
Can you say "power"?
This guy can really hit the ball.
Mac made it look so easy.
Mac, Michelle and Maria take a break at the halfway house to enjoy some delicious pizza!
Graham and family selected to play the Trump National Golf club.
At one point during the round Graham was heard saying "No one knows more about golf than I do"
Even though Michelle found herself in the deep rough on the first hole she was able to reach the green in three and make a par on this challenging opening par 5! Way to go Michelle!
The Robertson family headed to St. Andrews to play the Old Course. And yes they did get to experience playing out of some of the famous bunkers! Ian and sons Tyler and Sam enjoyed a challenging round.
With the ball above his feet, Ian was still able to hit it straight down the fairway. What talent!
