He had several problems with handshake contract agreements and also email/text agreements where he got burned, so he tried to find a software solution for contracting that would protect him legally. Couldn't find one

he enrolled at the Conestoga College Venture Lab to help him with his business. This got him the help to create an app, called Contract App

he tested the app with over 100 beta testers and it is now fully integrated with Quickbooks. It creates a contract that can be signed by the client using Docusign. 

The software can be used by any service provider.

If the client wishes, he can download the app to get a dashboard to show the progress on their job, like tracking material purchases

Software also allows mutual ranking of client or contractor, like Uber

Taylor is now a Coach helping others get started in skilled trade businesses at Conestoga

Taylor noted that it is challenging finding new trades people who don't have lofty salary expectations, and other carpentry businesses are having trouble finding work.
