Kathie Must, of Reception House, spoke to us at the Wednesday meeting regarding a possible Community Service project for our club. The board has agreed in principle to consider the project, with acceptance by members.
With borders beginning to open, refugee families will start to arrive again in our community. As they are required to quarantine in designated hotels for 14 days. During this time they are provided with food and some very basic needs.
Reception House is asking if we would consider putting "Welcome Packages" together to give to the families during their quarantine. These packages could include children's picture books, puzzles, simple games, toiletries and other basic items that Reception House staff would identify for us.
Individual members of the club could offer to provide a package for a specific family. Alternatively the club could provide items to be distributed by Reception House. More details to follow.
The first family is scheduled to arrive in the Fall, with more to come. Karin Voisin has offered to coordinate the effort. If you have any questions or comments, please contact her at karinvoisin@gmail.com

The Kitchener-Westmount Choir was busy recently..
Nineteen members joined together under the expert leadership of Todd Aitchison to sing “O Canada” to be used for our meetings. While the result may not be on the scale of (or even fractionally close to) philharmonic excellence, the laughs will linger on for some time”. With any luck Everton Wilmot can salvage something to express our National Pride.
