Julie Walder: Who am I?

Julie spoke positively about her membership experience with Rotary so far and likes the work that we do and how we go about helping others.

Julie gave a compelling, emotional, and inspiring presentation of her life. She suffered from trauma at an early age that led to a complex and difficult youth. She had many, many setbacks and was eventually able to overcome them with the help of her parents and others who supported her. She suffered additional setbacks in her 20’s, again suffered great trauma and eventually overcame her many challenges.

She has created a life where her purpose is serving others and is currently serving as CEO of a charity called Marillac, that serves the needs of homeless pregnant and single parent women. She stated that from her life experience she is uniquely qualified to provide the support to these women.

Her presentation was inspiring to the members and Karin Voisin stated that over her 24 years in Rotary, this was the most inspiring who am I presentation that she has heard and it deeply touched her heart. Julie received positive support from the members with respect to her sharing her life journey with us all.
