 We were joined by fellow Rotarian Doug Edwards from the Kitchener-Conestoga Club. He spoke about the Rotary Project Partnership Fund. The partnership is a collaboration among a number of local Rotary Clubs with a goal of collaborating in support of international projects.

Don Wilcox won the 50/50 draw.
 As lucky as that sounds, it was the new start of the pot for a grand total of $37.00.

Doug has been a Rotarian since 1987 at various clubs including Sault Ste. Marie and Kitchener- Waterloo. He was the president of the Kitchener Grand River club in 2004-2005. Doug has received two Paul Harris Fellowship Awards over the years.  He is currently a member of the Kitchener-Conestoga Rotary and is the President of the International Aid Fund since 2022.

Doug explained the format of the Project Partnership Fund of which our club is one of seven current members. Clubs include:
 
Kitchener-Westmount
Kitchener-Conestoga
Kitchener Rotary 
Waterloo Rotary 
Preston-Hespeler Rotary 
Oakville Rotary
Oakville-Trafalgar Rotary.
 
Each club has contributed $3250 to create a collaborative pool.  Members of the individual clubs decide which international projects in which they would like to participate.  Kitchener-Westmount was involved in a solar panel installation project in Costa Rica and a project to enhance transportation for students at San Miguel Mexico's School For The Deaf. 
 
Other project locations funded by the Project Participation Fund include Kenya, Santiago, Mexico and LasBlancas Mexico.

Doug would like to expand the number of clubs participating to 10 in 2024/25.
He is confident that the first year success of the fund will continue into the future.
