Sally Sarachman. Sally is with Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health.  

 

- Carizon, KW Counselling and Monica’s Place came together as one to form Camino to create a central, more streamlined system for those looking to access services so they only have to share their story once. Previously, individuals seeing assistance would have over 20 ways to access services, now there’s one centralized intake.

 

- they receive 800+ calls per month and have cut waitlist times down by a third

 

- Camino in Spanish means path

 

- They offer family supports, community and youth development, and family and individual therapy

 

- to highlight a few of their programs:

 

 - Section 23 School Program to help young mothers complete their education and access supports

 

 - LGBTQAI2S+ support

 

 - Weekend Respite Program: Welcomed 151 children to the program

 

 - Polaris: in-home treatment for children ages 5-12. 49 children and families have joined

 

  - Pathways to education: low-income support. 712 students have joined and have an 85% graduate rate

 

 - Newcomer Mental Health Services: 1351 newcomers have joined

 

 - FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder) support

 

 - Financial literacy programs available to everyone, 6 week program, 327 people have used this service

 

 - Quick Response Counselling: last minute help, usually people only need one session to help them and this allows them to do that.     11,776 sessions have occurred 

 

 - Family Violence Project: 394 units of service have been provided

 

- In total, Camino has 135 volunteers, 250+ employees and over 16,500 clients served
