Speaker

Judy Nairn introduced our guest speaker, Don Leslie, General Manager of The Westhill by Sifton. located in west Waterloo.

Don gave members an overview of The Westhill retirement facility and outlined the options it provides for senior living.  The community is comprised of a 115 suite retirement residence which provides long-term care accommodation, meals and a full range of nursing options for residents, and a 100 unit retirement apartment which allows for independent living with options for additional nursing care and use the facilities associated with the retirement residence.  Don also provided a very informative overview of the government funding model for nursing care facilities on Ontario and how private, for profit options fit in with that model.

Laura Power thanked Don on behalf of the Club.
